Baidu Q1 Revenue Up 75% – Closes JV with Rakuten

Baidu announced its first quarter results for 2012.  Revenues were US$677 million, up 75% over the same period in 2011. Bisnode Announces the Closing of WerLiefertWas (WLW) Divestment

Bisnode sold WLW to the private equity firm Paragon Partners. WLW, which offers online search services for companies, has a leading market position in the German-speaking countries.  The company, founded in 1932, has around 200 employees and is headquartered in Hamburg. Alibaba Said to Tap Temasek Funding to Buy Stake From Yahoo

According to Bloomberg Businessweek Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. has talked with Singapore’s Temasek Holdings Pte about providing financing to buy out Yahoo Inc.’s 40% stake in Alibaba.  Recently Alibaba’s founder and CEO, Jack Ma stated that he was interested in buying Yahoo Inc.   He is obviously working on various options to dissolve Alibaba’s cumbersome relationship with Yahoo.
