UBM’s Events Revenue Down 2.8% in First Half of 2014

London-based, UBM plc reported its interim results for the six months ended 30th June 2014. Revenues in the first half were £361 million (US$618 million), down 7.9% from last year. Reed’s First Half of 2014 Exhibition Revenues Up 8%

London-based media group, Reed Elsevier, reported its interim results for the six months ended 30th June 2014.  The group’s revenues grew by 4% to £2.8 billion (US$4.9 billion), while excluding for biennial exhibition cycling, revenues were up by 3%. HC International’s revenue up 53% in 2013

Hong Kong-listed HC International revenues in the year were US$138 million, up 53% from 2012.  Net income for the year was US$25 million – a jump of 132% over the previous year.  Dilute earnings per share in 2013 were RMB 0.2489 (US$0.041). Global Sources’ Revenues Down 15%

NASDAQ-listed Global Sources revenues for 2013 were US$198 million, down 15% from the previous year.  However, net profit in 2013 grew moderately by 1.6%, to US$33 million using the IFRS accounting standard.  Diluted earnings per share in the year were US$0.91. DMG Events Acquires Significant Share in Media Specialist Quartz Coatings Ltd.

DMG events, a subsidiary of the London-listed Daily Mail and General Trust plc, has acquired a significant share in Quartz Coatings Ltd, a B2B media specialist in paint and coatings exhibitions and publications.  Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
